| Once the heart of a thriving tin industry, the beautiful Cornish coastline is landmarked by the remains of engine houses and mine shafts, like this one near St. Agnes. Tin has been produced in this area for over 2000 years, reaching its peak in the 1870's, but the last tin mine, at South Crofty, closed industrial production in 1998. |
